Take your pick of three state-of-the-art infotainment systems, featuring displays ranging in size from 6.5 to 9.2 inches. The top-notch Amundsen system, always delivered with Virtual Cockpit, offers 3D navigation, ŠKODA Connect, gesture control, text messaging, and Shop. Optional extras include a Wi-Fi hotspot or 405 W ŠKODA Sound System.
If you opt for the Amundsen, your infotainment system will also feature the Shop, where you can easily and conveniently top up your data packages, extend your ŠKODA Connect online services, and download apps, the range of which will gradually be expanded. All of this without having to leave your car.
The new-generation ŠKODA Connect online services deliver online navigation and information services, the option to control selected vehicle functions remotely with a smartphone, and remote interaction with the ŠKODA service centre of your choice. eCall, which automatically contacts emergency services in an accident, is integral to this feature.
Infotainment Online services will help you to reach your destination safely and comfortably, every time. Via this package of services, the infotainment system receives online traffic information in real time, online map updates, weather reports (pictured), petrol prices, and information about available parking spaces. It also offers many other features.
Remote Access, another ŠKODA Connect feature, provides a completely new way of controlling your car by interconnecting the vehicle with your smartphone. For instance, it lets you lock and unlock your car via the Lock & Unlock service no matter where you are. Particularly useful if you forget to lock the car or remotely want to let someone gain access.
Don’t panic about where you left your car in a large car park or unknown city. Parking Position consigns those worries to the past. The vehicle transmits its position data once after every trip, and you can easily display this on your smartphone or smartwatch. Parking Position is included in the set of Remote Access services.
By installing the accompanying ŠKODA Connect App on a smartphone or smartwatch, you can use Remote Access to check whether all your car’s windows are closed, find out how much fuel is left in the tank, or view and archive driving data such as the car’s mileage or the speeds it has travelled at.
Selected ŠKODA Connect services are controlled via buttons in the roof module. The eCall red button on the right immediately calls for help if you are involved in or witness a serious road accident. The middle button calls your service centre if you break down. Use the left button to ask for more information on the ŠKODA Infoline.
SmartLink provides you with a connection between your smartphone and the in-built infotainment via Apple CarPlay (also wirelessly), Android Auto and MirrorLink® (in both cases also wirelessly except for Amundsen). Use the navigation system, play music or a podcast via your favourite apps or deal with your text messages and calls.
The Phone Box is a mobile phone storage compartment in the centre console that enables mobile calls even when the signal is weak. The Phone Box also allows charging your smartphone using the Qi wireless standard.
The KAMIQ MONTE CARLO is equipped as standard with two modern backlit front USB-C ports for data transmission and recharging. Three additional USB-C ports can optionally be added – one by the rear-view mirror to charge a camera and two for rear passengers to charge their devices.
